About Ancestors of Wade & Linda Starks
Please sign in to see more.
Ancestry of Wade Starks and Linda Gray:
While my family name is Starks, the name, Starks, is really an alias from a step father. My birth family name was Waldron. Waldron was changed from the original Swedish name, Walgren.

For the ancestry of my mother, Pauline Burnham, see user ID, "PBurnham". I have chosen to separate my mother's pedigree from that of my father's and my wife's because it is so extensive and because I am not actively working it.

Genealogies on this site:
These genealogies are works in progress. So there are undoubtedly some errors to be found in the data. I chose to post even the unvalidated data in order to present what is known, or asserted about our ancestry, as a basis for myself and others to work from. If you are also working any of these lines, please let me know of your interests. And were errors, or omissions are found, please notify me. I am still uncovering extensions to these pedigrees from the research of others. I will attempt to verify the assertions, as fast as I can. As this work grows exponentially, I look forward to your contributions to help leverage this work.

My genealogy: (Wade Starks, AG)
I have personally done the original research on the Scandinavian lines of my father, Floyd Alfred Waldron, and I am confident of the validity of this research. I am still actively pursuing the Swedish ends-of-lines.

I am an Accredited Genealogist and do genealogy research professionally, specializing in Scandinavian research.

Floyd's mother's pedigree, that of Clara Eliza Ames, includes a substantial amount of information gleaned on the internet from others' research. Much of the New England information comes from published and well documented sources. Most of the information (though not all) back into the 18th century, I have verified. For most of the gateway ancestors, I have not personally verified their links across the ocean to their homelands.

My Wife's genealogy: (Linda Gray)
Many of the ends of lines are being actively researched. There are several links which are either unproven, or suspect. These are:

John Jackman Smith`s parents
One source shows his parents as John Jackman Smith Sr and Elizabeth Stewart. Other information suggests he may be the son of a John Smith and Hannah Jackman. This current connection is both unproven and suspect. This Hannah, daughter of Thomas Jackman Sr and Hester Wright of Virginia, has been linked as the wife in at least three conflicting families by others. So more research is needed to sort out fact from fiction here.

Catharine van der Poel (1776)
While it is likley the Catharine van der Poel is daughter of an Abraham van der Poel, that she is daugther of this Abraham and Marytje Bekker is a yet unproven. One problem with this family is that there is another Catharine born in 1783, which suggests the one born in 1776 may have died before 1883.

Teunis Slingerland (1779)
That Teunis Slingeland, husband of Eleanor van den Berg is the same as Teunis Slingerland, son of Elbert Slingerland and Christina van Vranken, is highly probable, but the link is based on circumstantial evidence.

Lydia Patton
According to the custodian of this genealogy, the link between Lydia and parents John Patton and Sarah Rogers is likely, but unproven.

Presley Josephus Paul
That he is the son of John Paul is likely but unproven.

Much of the pre-1800 genealogy is the result of the research efforts of others and unvalidated by myself.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
